I spent my sixth semester in Bali to broaden my personal skills and to get new architectural input, far away from the western world. The courses at Udayana University were very interesting and enriching. The exchange program gave me a unique change of perspective and opened up a new world of architecture influenced by Balinese tradition. My expectations were exceeded and I was able to immerse myself in “the island of gods”. Between temples and rice fields I explored the traditional way of life of the open-minded Balinese. Start the day with a surf session, explore the island on a scooter, find your inner self through yoga, enjoy the national dish Nasi Goreng in a warung for only 1.50€ – that’s life in Bali.
